Students deepen their understanding of Religion, ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies through a dynamic curriculum that encourages critical thinking, curiosity, and faith-based learning.
Religion
Students grow in their relationship with God through Scripture, prayer, and Catholic tradition using the Christ Our Life series. They come to know Jesus more deeply as they learn about the Apostles’ Creed, the Saints, and the loving presence of Mary. Through their study of the sacraments—especially the Eucharist—they gain a greater appreciation for God’s grace in their lives. Lessons on the Ten Commandments, Beatitudes, and parables help them understand how to live as disciples of Christ each day. Prayer services, hands-on projects, and acts of service nurture empathy, compassion, and a spirit of community. Rooted in faith and love, the program inspires students to live joyfully as followers of Christ in all they do.
English Language Arts
Students strengthen their reading and writing skills through the Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) curriculum, exploring a rich variety of genres including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and plays. They deepen comprehension by analyzing main ideas, character development, and making inferences, while using critical thinking to summarize and evaluate texts. Writing instruction emphasizes the writing process, guiding students to craft well-organized opinion pieces, research reports, and creative works. Grammar, phonics, and handwriting are reinforced through daily practice and interactive activities. Students also research current events, present their findings, and participate in meaningful discussions, building strong communication, analytical, and collaborative skills.
Math
Students grow into confident, curious mathematicians through the Bridges Math curriculum. Using hands-on manipulatives, interactive notebooks, and digital tools, they explore key concepts such as place value, fractions, decimals, geometry, measurement, and early algebraic thinking. Personalized learning goals, guided by MAP and classroom assessments, ensure that each child is challenged and supported at their own pace. Through collaborative problem-solving and real-world applications, students discover that math is not just about numbers—it is about thinking critically, communicating clearly, and finding joy in the process of learning.
Science
Students explore the wonders of life, physical, and earth sciences through the Science Fusion curriculum. Hands-on investigations and interactive lessons spark curiosity as students study ecosystems, animal behavior, natural resources, energy, motion, light, sound, and the solar system. Through the Scientific Method, they learn to ask meaningful questions, design experiments, and analyze data to draw thoughtful conclusions. Field trips and guest speakers bring science to life, connecting classroom learning to the world around them. Collaborative inquiry and discovery nurture critical thinking, creativity, and a lasting sense of wonder about God’s creation.
Social Studies
Students discover the rich story of Ohio’s history, government, and communities while developing a strong sense of citizenship and civic responsibility. Through project-based learning, they apply real-world skills such as mapping, budgeting, and creating timelines. As they explore early civilizations, world explorers, and immigration, students make meaningful connections between the past and the present. The curriculum inspires civic engagement by helping students understand how government works and how individuals can make a difference in their communities. Throughout the program, students build critical thinking, collaboration, and decision-making skills using high-quality informational texts and interactive learning experiences.
