Challenge Program – Gifted and Talented

The Challenge Program is designed to nurture and extend students’ advanced learning abilities by fostering critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Our goal is to help students become responsible, independent, and creative learners.

Grade 1

First-grade students engage in whole-class activities that develop their critical and creative thinking. Enhancement teachers visit biweekly to provide supplemental lessons within the regular classroom setting.

Grades 2–5

Qualified students in grades 2–5 participate in a weekly 45-minute pull-out session focused on project-based learning that emphasizes real-world skills like communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. First graders who qualify join the program starting in the second semester. Parents receive progress reports detailing strengths, areas for growth, and completed projects.

Grades 6–8

Middle school students’ scores are reviewed for placement in honors classes, which offer extended learning opportunities. Additional enrichment and assessment options are available for qualifying students. Honors classes follow the standard grading policy.
