Enhancing learning beyond the classroom.
Field Trips
Students enjoy a variety of enriching field trips, academic clubs, and competitions that enhance classroom learning and build community. From exploring local treasures like Patterson’s Fruit Farm and the Natural History Museum to experiencing the arts at Severance Hall and Playhouse Square, each grade level participates in meaningful, developmentally appropriate outings. Highlights include a three-day 6th grade camp, a downtown Cleveland experience for 7th grade, and an unforgettable trip to Washington, D.C. for our 8th graders.
Enriching the Curriculum
Notre Dame Elementary School offers a special Enrichment class for students in Kindergarten through Grade 2. Led by Sister Barbara Soplata, this once-a-week class invites young learners to explore the wonders of the world through hands-on, inquiry-based activities. Enrichment lessons spark curiosity and creativity as students study topics such as butterflies and the chrysalis, origami, the solar eclipse, and more. Each session encourages students to ask questions, make discoveries, and deepen their appreciation for science, art, and the beauty of God’s creation.
Library
Our library program is a vibrant part of student life, offering a welcoming space for discovery, imagination, and learning. Students from Preschool through Grade 5 visit the library once a week to explore books, develop a love of reading, and build early literacy skills. Our youngest students enjoy engaging storytimes led by the librarian, while older students are encouraged to explore a wide selection of age-appropriate books that spark curiosity and support classroom learning.
